Mar Gregory . . . grew up in Roanoke County as Margaret Mullins Edmondson. Her parents owned 2 restaurants in Roanoke, where she and her two brothers spent many weekends, playing records on the juke box, learning to dance to the latest tunes, reading comics, and bugging the chef for their favorite snacks.
Her interest in films grew, while as a child, her mother would drop them off for Saturday morning movies at the Lee Theatre on Williamson Road. Her mom would also load everyone up in the car for an evening at a local drive in theatre. They were the first in the neighborhood to get a television. As a teenager, she and her friends would ride the bus to downtown Roanoke to watch movies at the local theatres.
She is the mother of one daughter, is married to Steve Gregory, a structural engineer, and currently resides in the house they designed and built in Forest, Virginia.
Mar presently works for Campbell County Department of Social Services as a Family Educator, serves as a location scout for the Bedford and Lynchburg regions and also has worked within the film industry as a production/casting assistant for many years.
She has previously served on the Blue Ridge-Southwest Virginia Film Office Advisory Board and was a Board Member of Life Outreach Ministries, Inc. Mar is a valued and active member of the Board of Directors of the Blue Ridge-Southwest Virginia Film Office!
